The Royal Australian Air Force’s No 3 Squadron traces its history from all the way back to WWI up to Middle Eastern combat operations against ISIL. In 2017, they closed down their F/A-18 operations and stood up as Down Under’s first F-35 Squadron. Initially based in the US at Luke AFB for the transition, they have relocated to RAAF Base Williamstown.
